Whynot Pottery Whynot Pottery is owned and operated by Mark and Meredith Heywood. Our work consists of mostly gas fired stoneware pottery, and accent tiles.

Since 1982 we've been selling our stoneware pottery in the community of Whynot in central North Carolina, just on the other side of the hill from Seagrove. Please place orders directly to:

Please use these email address to communicate order, shipping address and payments. Payments can be made with a CC over the phone, check by mail or invoice. or through a Square invoice sent to you by us. Never send us any CC or Bank information through FB, or email for security reasons. After an order is place and before it is shipped, we can and often do send you picture for approval. Shipping costs are calculated on your address plus a packing fee of no less that 4.95 per box. Excepts: for over size items where a box may need to be made add to cost. Shipping carries, we use USPO for most items on occasion we will use UPS. The USPO is within 2 miles of the shop. Using UPS is a 20-minute drive both ways for us.

And, just like that the pumpkins all got ripe at the same time.
Dark Mountain Studio owned, and all work made by Sydney Williams, showed up yesterday with a big hatch of her delightful pumpkins. They are now all waiting for you. Some are telling jokes and some are just listening in awe.
Today it's appointment only.
Thursday through Saturday we will be open 10-4 ish...5 if you like.

New Update and Driveway Repair:
We have completed the driveway repair and it is now safe to drive on the driveway.
Our quarter-mile driveway may seem long, but the scenic route around the pond is enjoyable. You can often spot Herons fishing, ducks, geese, and occasionally bald eagles hunting. We're also home to Osprey, hawks, kingfishers, and an owl that visits in the late afternoon. Our yard is a haven for birds, butterflies, bees, and dragonflies, with hummingbirds reigning supreme.
Hours this week:
We're open Wednesday through Saturday from 10am-5pm. Other times are available by appointment, as long as the driveway is clear.

Update. Due to some damage on our driveway that showed up late this afternoon we will be closed while we make repairs.
