Last night on air, I spent a little time talking about Lyme disease awareness.

It’s a massive issue here in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and there really is no escaping ticks around here.

I’ve had Lyme disease for fourteen years, and it still takes a toll on me every day. I mentioned it on air because after a long day at work between two jobs, I was definitely feeling it.

The good news is that Lyme disease is usually very treatable when caught early. Check yourself, your pets, and your family for ticks, use bug spray, and don’t ignore symptoms. If you notice a rash or start feeling sick, see a doctor right away. Addressing it quickly is important. Treatment is usually super simple and painless.

I wasn’t diagnosed early enough, and that’s why it became a long-term issue for me.

I know this isn’t the typical post from a page like mine, but it’s important to me and it’s important to our area.

Stay safe, enjoy the summer, keep Rock 107 loud, and stay colorful.

Steps to take after a tick bite including removing a tick and watching for signs and symptoms.

I’m grateful to have worked with and learned from Andy. Our area has some talented broadcasters who deserve their flowers, and Andy Mehalshick Eyewitness News has earned a whole bouquet.

For years, he helped tell the stories of Northeastern Pennsylvania with professionalism, fairness, curiosity, and a genuine connection to the people he covered. As someone early in my own media career, I’ve appreciated the opportunity to learn from journalists like Andy who have dedicated their lives to the craft. The longer I work in local media, the more I realize how fortunate we are to have so many experienced professionals in Northeast PA willing to share their knowledge with the next generation. That applies to the experience I’ve had in radio too.

Congratulations on your retirement, Andy. Thank you for everything you’ve contributed to local broadcasting and for the impact you’ve had on those who’ve had the chance to work alongside you. Your career is a reminder of the impact great local broadcasters can have on their communities. Thank you for the inspiration. Wishing you good health and all the best in the years ahead!

Well…wish I could just board a Crazy Train to Scranton tonight. My tire is as flat as a vinyl left on a dashboard in July.

ROCK 107's Hoover has come through to save the day for me (not the first time) and is taking over the airwaves for me tonight during Ozzy Weekend.

I’m bummed to miss this one. Few things hurt more than missing a weekend built around the Prince of Darkness because your car decided to bark at the moon.

Show Hoover some love tonight on the Rock 107 late shift. Don’t know what I’d do without him.

*To be clear: I am NEVER leaving Rock 107.*
Bittersweet saying goodbye to the morning crew on my last production shift today. I’m very happy to share that I’ve been picked up full-time at as a News Photographer/Editor for 28/22 News.

Everyone in these photos supported, encouraged, and believed in me every step of the way, and I wouldn’t be here without them. I’m excited for this next chapter: getting behind the camera, growing in the newsroom, and continuing to tell stories in a new way. I couldn’t be more passionate or proud. I’m grateful for everyone who supported me; my journey is far from over!
