The Anthracite Valley USBC Annual Open Meeting is this Wednesday (May 06, 2026) at 7pm at Idle Hours South. This meeting is open to all adult and youth members and attendance is strongly encouraged. We will be electing four Directors to the AVUSBC Board as well as delegates to both the 2027 PAUSBC Meeting and the 2027 National USBC Convention/Meeting in Las Vegas. Also remaining award glasses will be available for presentation to those who have not received them yet.

Bowlers this is YOUR Association. Come to the meeting so you can offer suggestions and input, meet and vote for AVUSBC Board Members, check out our awards, or just come to say hi. Our Association can’t be successful without YOU!

ANTHRACITE VALLEY USBC ANNUAL OPEN MEETING
Wednesday May 6, 2026 at 7PM at Idle Hours South
Open to all AVUSBC members (Men, Women, and Youth). Meeting will include election of 4 Director positions on the AVUSBBC Board as well as election of delegates to 2027 PA State USBC Convention and 2027 USBC National Convention.

Bowlers this is YOUR association. This is your chance to get involved, vote on important issues, and provide input/feedback. Make sure to attend and help our association improve.

Are you interested in getting more involved in YOUR association? Do you have a passion for the sport of bowling? Do you have ideas on how the AVUSBC can do better for our members? Do you want to ensure a solid future for upcoming youth bowlers in our area? If so, now is your chance to get involved. The AVUSBC Board has 4 Director terms that are set to expire on 07/31/2026. We are also accepting nominations for delegates to the 2027 PAUSBC Convention as well as the 2027 USBC National Convention. Now is your chance to get involved. If you are interested in getting involved, head over to our website (AVUSBC.com) and print out the AVUSBC 2026 Nomination Form and send it in. All nomination forms must be received by April 30, 2026 in order to appear on the Annual Meeting ballot. Nomination forms must be received by May 03, 2026 for those wishing to be nominated from the floor.

If you were not aware the league had 2 teams that were unable to bowl tonight due to a lane being broken and the center not being able to fix it. I was told by the center manager that the lane broke down at 3pm. The center manager didn't tell the league officers until 6:20pm. He then gave the teams the option to wait until a pair opened up or to post bowl. Neither team could get together after Monday nor did they want to wait until 9:30pm to start bowling. The two teams agreed to split the points and were only responsible for paying the prize fund for each bowler.
