As we wind down 2022, since we can now continue our 2020 Monroe County Bicentennial Projects, I would like it to be known that the book: “M. T. Flippin’s Monroe County” will be available to order for your Christmas gift giving. Flippin was an early resident of the county that wrote a series of articles for one of the county’s now defunct newspapers in 1889. All known “Historic Sketches of Monroe County” will be included in this book.

Also included is a second book - there will be two titles in one cover - is “Poems and Addresses” which finds Flippin writing poetry about love, family, nature and Monroe County. In that same book, Flippin shares speeches he gave about issues in the late 1800s including the Civil War.

After this title experiences one more audit and one more edit it will be ready for your own bookshelf at home. More info to come!

It is my privilege to announce this special offer on Juneteenth 2022.

In 2013, my mom and I took my new camera out for a spin. We went all across Allen County and Monroe County and filled a special digital album that I plan to use in special projects. These were photographs that were used in projects throughout the Bicentennial Celebrations and still some coming down the pipeline in the months to come.

This one - "Maynard, Kentucky - 2013" - is offered as a print. I will decide on sizes and prices based on what folks would like. The titling shown here is optional, too. This is a low-resolution version to discourage theft but the final project will be better quality.

You can have this print for $5.99-19.99 depending on the size you want. Portion of the profit on this will go the Allen County African-American Heritage Council if they can get in touch with me (270) 622-0822.

Updates: 2022 will be a year for photo dumps and publications along with our regular projects. We have auditioned our self-publishing venture with success and in 2022 we will be bringing to light projects that have been unwraps for several years including some projects when my Allen County Bicentennial plans got intersected by glaucoma surgery. Stay tuned! I may only have one good now but my enthusiasm and energy to persevere and finish what I started is stronger than ever.

Just wanted to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas and remind folks we are still open, just by appointment only and on a project by project basis. You can email, call, text or message this page to reach me.

Also, on January 1, 2022, we will be doing a photo dump that may include any of the projects we have filmed, photographs, or transferred between 2009 and 2015. (Not including film) and we want to invite you all to enjoy the nearly ten years of accumulated photography we have in our collection. You may feel free to save what you'd like. Typically, it is free of watermarks but we do hope you will remember where you got the pictures. Most pictures will be identified.

How’s everyone holding up on day 30-something of this PANDEMIC? One concern that I know people have is about our AC-SHS Class of 2020 SENIORS and how we plan to celebrate their last year at AC-SHS, class night and graduation. Every class since Jesus basically has had a Class Night and Graduation live in-person event. Is there even a way to creat a “virtual” Class Night? I think I can help with that but I need a LOT of help spreading the word because we would want every Senior to participate. Here’s what I need help communicating.

For every senior in the class of 2020 I need
1.) a senior picture and a baby picture
2.) a list of activities, accomplishments, future plans, whose son/daughter h/she is (the stuff normally announced at Class Night)
3.) a 30 second video by the senior, alone or with friends giving a message to their class mates, family or teachers.
4.) what is the class song, list of officers, motto, colors
5.) any video taken by parents or friends that you would like to be included (think band, chorus, fall sports, spring sports from previous years)

For every senior that turns those five things in to me, I will make a virtual class night video and post it on social media. How does that sound? I’ll call them “senior shoutouts” and will publish them, shareable on this page. Parents, teachers, pastors, friends can share the videos across facebook and truly give Seniors - themselves - some very much deserved attention and prestige.

This would be a free service. A file of all the “senior shoutouts” will be created when the social media project is completed and I’ll offer than to the public to purchase. Anyone interested? Start by messaging this page with the information I’ve requested. Make sure each message has the name of the senior. Videos made by Seniors as messages to their classmates may be emailed to [email protected]

As so many of our local businesses are updating the public about their plans to thrive during the COVID-19 virus crisis, I'll join in. As many of you know Cinemental Journeys has been a home-based business, then we shut down to move across Scottsville, and we have yet to get fully operational. We do still take projects, we do still offer one of a kind services for this area and we manage to stay busy on a part-time basis just through word of mouth promotions. We've had to reinvest in some of our equipment, update our computers and we've transitioned into a part-time business for now but we'll be back eventually.

Watch for updates from our page because very soon, we will be announcing projects we are working on with for the Monroe County Kentucky Bicentennial and kicking off some new services which are very exciting.

Anybody have 110 or 35mm FILM that they didn't get developed back in the day? Yeah, me too! Be looking for that feature to launch soon! We have been asked repeatedly for at least ten years to provide that service and until recently, it's just been very hard to do. So stay tuned! ~ Andrew
