Not every story is told from the front.

Sometimes you follow it.

Eight riders. No one looking back.

There’s no rush here. Just direction, rhythm, and the kind of quiet that comes after a long day well spent.

This is where the painting lives.

Not in the detail, but in the feeling of moving with it.

At scale, it settles into a space and holds it.
Warmth, movement, and a sense that something just happened… or is about to.

Just imagine standing in that room, and this is the piece that keeps pulling you back.

Original watercolor. Sealed, finished, and built to last.
One of one.

The doors closed, but the work doesn’t.

Ten weeks at the Arizona Fine Art Expo asked for everything, long days, full walls, steady focus, and a lot of trust in the work.

Now it’s quiet again.
The booth is packed down.
The paintings are back in the studio, waiting for what’s next.

I want to say thank you.

To the collectors who chose to live with these pieces, you’re the reason I get to keep doing this.
To the artists who showed up every day and raised the bar, it mattered.
And to the team behind the Expo, this doesn’t happen without you.

There’s a rhythm to this life.
Show. Reset. Begin again.

I’m back in the studio.

Hold on. Swing through.

Two bull riders holding on.
One golfer trying to get out.

Different stories, same moment in the process.

These are in their final stage before mounting and a beeswax resin finish, where the watercolor deepens and the surface comes to life without glass.

Right now, they’re still on the table.

By the end of today, they won’t be.

Final day at the Arizona Fine Art Expo

This isn’t a quiet painting.

Bison Under A Rose Moon.

A herd that holds its ground, steady, certain, and impossible to ignore.
This is one you feel before you fully take it in.

Just imagine standing in front of it.

I’ll be in the studio this Friday night at the Arizona Fine Art Expo for Fine Art Friday, 6–9pm.
124 studios open, music, good food, and a chance to experience the work in person.

I’ll be there.

All Are Welcome.

That’s the title of this new 20 × 72 watercolor taking shape in my studio at the Arizona Fine Art Expo.

A sky filled with indigo butterflies, and one dragonfly passing through.

This piece is being created for a collector who already lives with one of my butterfly paintings and a dragonfly, so this time the two share the same sky.

The washes are still building, but the movement is already there. That’s one of the things I enjoy most about watercolor, watching the color move across the paper and seeing the painting begin to breathe.

Still in progress.

Sometimes a painting changes the moment the paint hits the paper.

It starts quietly.
A pencil sketch… a few lines suggesting the story.

Then the first wash of blue settles into the paper and everything shifts.

The sky opens up.
The cowboys take their place.
And suddenly the whole scene begins to breathe.

That deep western night sky… the kind that stills you for a moment and reminds you how big the night can feel.

Painted live in my studio at the Arizona Fine Art Expo.

Original watercolor, in progress.

Step inside the booth.

This is where the stories live.

Moose that feel larger than life.
Aspens that glow like they’re holding onto autumn a little longer.
Cowboys riding into the horizon.
Cactus standing quiet under desert moons.

Every piece here began the same way:
a blank sheet of paper and a brush loaded with watercolor.

No prints. No reproductions.
Just original paintings, each one with its own personality.

I’ll be here at the Arizona Fine Art Expo through March 29, and there’s still time to wander through the work in person.

Art always feels different when you’re standing right in front of it.

February flew by.

The booth has been full of color, conversation, and collectors taking their time.

From moose with quiet strength to aspens glowing in layered light…
from weathered bison to wide cactus landscapes…
and yes, cowboys with stories written into their posture.

These are original, statement-scale watercolors. No prints. No editions. Each one sealed by hand and built to last.

Different subjects. Same commitment to craft. Same presence on the wall.

If you’ve been meaning to step inside, this is your invitation.
