Today we’re celebrating the eight incredible sea turtles that call OdySea Aquarium home:

💜 Teddy — Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle
🩷 Pow Pow — Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle
Green sea turtles, loggerhead sea turtles, and Kemp’s ridley sea turtles are all protected species facing conservation challenges in the wild. While green sea turtles are now listed as Least Concern globally due to successful conservation efforts, many populations still face ongoing threats. Loggerhead sea turtles are currently listed as Threatened, while Kemp’s ridley sea turtles are listed as Critically Endangered. Major threats include habitat loss, marine debris, vessel strikes, climate change, and accidental entanglement in fishing gear.
At OdySea Aquarium, we are proud to support the care and rehabilitation of sea turtles while helping inspire guests to become advocates for ocean conservation and the protection of these remarkable animals.
