Back in the early 2000s, skaters from across the Valley rolled into Eldorado Park to show off their best tricks, compete for prizes, and spend the day at one of Scottsdale’s most iconic skate spots.

Don’t worry — sunset swim will be in addition to Eldorado’s normal waterpark hours, meaning you can enjoy swimming and the waterpark all day! Enjoy waterpark hours from 1 to 6 p.m. and swim with the sunset from 6 to 9 p.m. 💦

Last week, Scottsdale Parks and Recreation welcomed National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and Musco Lighting to see the impact of the Youth Sports Equity Grant firsthand. 🏀👏

As one of just five agencies nationwide selected for the grant, Scottsdale expanded youth Special Olympics programming through Scottsdale Adaptive Recreation and added new lighting at the Chaparral Park basketball courts. 💡

The visit wrapped up with a community celebration under the new lights — bringing together residents, partners and city leaders to celebrate the power of play, inclusion and community connection. 🤝

Scottsdale’s Adaptive Recreation team is hiring for a part-time recreation leader to help create inclusive programs and outings, support Special Olympics sports and host social events that promote independence, connection and confidence. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting participants, facilitating engaging activities and fostering a safe, respectful and empowering environment where everyone can thrive. 🤩
