The Outcasters

I had the honor of once again presenting my INFLUENTIAL INTERACTIONS Communication Training to the incredible Elevate MeD Scholars during their Explosion of a Dream Weekend 2026.

This is my 4th year presenting to this inspiring nonprofit organization that's shaping the next generation of physician leaders from African-American/Black, Latinx, and Native American communities. They are bright minds who are already making waves in medicine!

This group is always ON FIRE! Their creativity, collaboration, and razor-sharp listening skills were off the charts… exactly what you want in the doctors of tomorrow.

I’m genuinely excited to see where their paths lead. I’m deeply honored to have shared the room, the laughs, and the learning with such extraordinary future medical professionals!

"All throughout the day today I kept hearing about how much fun everyone had yesterday and how memorable the experience was. That’s all I could ask for. Thank you so much to you and your team for giving Brain Balance something we’ve never had before." -- Jennifer Irwin, Brain Balance

Thank you to everyone at Brain Balance for inviting me to be part of your National Convention. It was an honor to present INFLUENTIAL INTERACTIONS and work with such an inspiring group of passionate franchise owners and leaders who are making a real difference in the lives of children and families across the country!

Join me at ImprovCon in San Diego!
Friday, August 21st, 8-10 am

In his workshop, “The Unspoken Yes: Starting Scenes through Energy,” you’ll learn how to read your scene partner before a single word is spoken, allowing your openings to feel immediate, grounded, and undeniably real. Instead of forcing ideas, you’ll develop the ability to recognize what’s already happening—and step into it with confidence. By training your instincts to pick up on subtle physical and emotional cues, you’ll eliminate hesitation and second-guessing. Scenes begin faster, relationships become clearer, and your choices feel more connected and alive. When you’re not stuck, you’re free to experience the scene!

Joe Hammer is the founder and director of The Outcasters Improv Training Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Joe has spent decades helping people think faster, communicate better, and show up with confidence, on stage and in life. As the author of "The Improv Edge" and "Blank to Brilliant," Joe blends performance, psychology, and real-world application into workshops that are as practical as they are energizing.

Discover the World of Long-Form Improv!

If you've only experienced short-form improv games, you're about to discover an entirely new way to create on stage.

Our Introduction to Long-Form Improv Immersive Workshop is designed for both brand-new improvisers and experienced performers. Whether you've never stepped on stage before or you've spent years playing short-form games, this class will expand your skills in exciting ways.

Long-form improv isn't about memorizing complex structures, it's about learning how to build authentic relationships, create engaging stories, and trust your instincts.

You'll discover techniques that make scenes feel more natural, connected, and memorable while strengthening skills that improve every style of improvisation, including short form.

If you're a seasoned short-form player who's wondered what long-form is all about, this is the perfect introduction. You'll recognize many familiar principles while learning how to let scenes breathe, uncover richer characters, and create stories that audiences genuinely invest in.
