We are so happy to have been recently visited by our community foresters who manage our forests and help fight some of the fires in our area! Having recently received our certification as a PlantNebraska Arboretum, we are happy to have tree specialists join and tour the zoo! Smokey was also very much a fan of their visit, as he received some tasty snacks from them!

Remember that Bear Encounters are available for booking through the front desk or the website! This is an experience that helps progress our mission by providing both a thrilling, intimate and educational opportunity for our guests!

Today we celebrate Veterinarian Appreciation Day by appreciating our vets! We house over 60 animals and our vets ensure that we uphold and aim to always improve our standard of welfare! They’ve helped so many of our animals and also manage to help so many animals in our community as well! Whether it’s the weekly vet rounds or the emergency calls, our vet team always manages to show up and show out! Thank you Wyobraska Veterinary Services - Official !👩🏻‍⚕️🩺🦊

Additionally, the photo of Bonnie our Bobcat was taken during a routine procedure. She too is fully recovered and on display.)

Each animal at RDC requires a safe, habitable enclosure, of course – but the walkways, gardens and activities open to the zoo’s patrons must also be regularly maintained and repaired.
