The first ZooFest Splash Pad Party, sponsored by Schank Roofing, was a major hit yesterday afternoon. We handed out free popsicles and also free ice cream cone coupons from Dairy King, and we also handed out a number of prizes, many after kids participated in some fun — and a little humorous — contests like this one in which we asked kids to give us their best tiger/lion roar. We thought this would be fitting since yesterday was International Cat Day. 🙂🐅

This is Rajah, our tiger who enjoyed some relaxing time in his pool this morning. Rajah had an exciting day yesterday as we gave him a special feeding in celebration of ZooFest and also in celebration of International Cat Day. We want to thank everyone who came out yesterday to see Rajah and all of our other cool animals!

It’s been an absolutely amazing day so far at the first ZooFest here at RDC. Families are having a blast at all the cool activity stations, and the Dino Dig For Prizes event was a huge hit. We also just saw a wonderful performance by the WyoBraska Extreme Cheer team on the zoo’s stage.

What a fun evening at ZooFest Movie Night at the Midwest Theater. We enjoyed doing a couple animal presentations on stage and giving families a chance to get an up-close look — and even touch — a couple snakes.
Attendees are now getting ready to watch the movie Zootopia 2. Winners of the drawing, which includes a cute gift basket by RDC, will be announced after the movie.
Don’t forget to come see us tomorrow for the inaugural ZooFest, which goes from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. We’ll be doing a lot more special animal presentations, education talks, trainings, and even a special tiger feeding since Aug. 8 is International Cat Day!

We’ve got nearly 13 hours of flat-out fun planned for you tomorrow at ZooFest, and it’s going to end with a bang with our ZooFest Concert Night.
The live music starts at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until 10 p.m. And during that time, we’ll also have lots of food/drink vendors, including Scott Free Brewing Company, cool giveaways and prize winners from our evening drawing, and games and activities for kids.
Trust us, you won’t want to miss ZooFest Concert Night!
