Lantz Choral Publications features music written by David Lantz III, along with a handful of lyricists. Lantz does all of the writing and arranging, editing, typesetting and proofreading. He and his wife (lyricist and composer Marti Lunn Lantz) do all of the demo recording. David Lantz III has been a published composer with many major companies since 1981. Approximately 700 church and school octavos have been published at Beckenhorst Press, Shawnee Press, Hal Leonard, Alfred, Lorenz, Jubilate and many other. Lantz is a retired public school music teacher (31 years) and has taught every level from K through college. The majority of his teaching career was at the high school level, where he conducted the choirs, taught music theory and composition, piano and vocal technique. Currently, he is conducting choirs at Lafayette College in Easton, PA. Lantz is also the director of the choir at Stroudsburg United Methodist Church. He remains an active jazz and pop musician. He is also an experienced editor and music typesetter, having worked for Alfred, Shawnee Press, Beckenhorst Press, Lorenz, and others. He has done guest conducting and led reading sessions. He also played bass for many years on recordings for both Shawnee Press and Alfred. Lantz’s degrees include a Bachelor of Science degree from Susquehanna University (1978) and a Master of Music in Composition from West Chester University (2002). Lantz majored on the trombone, but has evolved into playing bass and piano and singing professionally. David Lantz III writes in a variety of styles and difficulty levels. Most of his work has been for choral ensembles and solo piano, but he is adept at writing music for orchestra, concert band and various smaller ensembles.
