The Northeast Ballet Company, under the direction of Darlene Myers, has been serving the Capital District since 1990. It has had the honor of being the resident company of the historic Proctor's Theater since 1991. The Company's mission is "To cultivate, promote, foster, teach and develop the appreciation, understanding and the love of ballet." The Company's legacy is their annual sold-out product
ions of the Nutcracker performed at Proctor's during the holiday season. The annual spring project is Stories that Dance which is an exciting collaboration of the Proctors' Education department, Northeast Ballet Company and local elementary schools. The Company offers many other unique opportunities for its dancers. By employing New York City Ballet dancers for the Nutcracker, company members perform with dancers of the highest caliber. The Company also performs at the Hall of Springs Nutcracker Tea, SPAC/NYCB promotional events, the Albany Symphony Orchestra as well at the CBS6 - Melodies of Christmas. Northeast Ballet Company is available for school lecture/demonstrations and performances in the United States and Internationally.
