The Rivers Edge Arts Society is a 501c3 non-profit group of artists and non-artists who support the arts. It is our mission to promote the arts, arts education and arts tourism in western Oklahoma and surrounding areas. Our goals are to provide a unique space for artists and fine crafters of all mediums to display and market their work, to provide opportunities for the arts education for adults an

d children, to promote events in the performing arts, and to attract tourists and tourism dollars. We welcome all donations to the organization. They are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We have a yearly donation campaign drive in December but welcome contributions at any time.

Paint Night this Thursday evening, Aug 20, 7 pm. The gallery is cool so join us! Cost is $25.
Barn quilt class on Saturday, Aug 29, 9am-1pm, has a few more openings. Cost is $45. Please call to reserve a spot.
Gallery Book Club meets Wednesday, Sept 2, at 1 pm. We're reading "Mad Mabel" by Sally Hepworth if you can find it. If not, read something else, and come tells us about it. Lots of good discussion.
Finally, Senior Adult art classes on Tuesday mornings will be taking a break Aug 25 and Sep 1. Join us again on Sept 8.
PS, If anyone is interested in learning mahjong, let us know. We have a teacher wanting to get a group together. Call us at 580-928-0002.

Just got in a new assortment of succulents for our Aug 1 Succulent Dish Garden Class. If you would like to learn more about succulents and their care and then make your own dish garden, join us Saturday morning, August 1, 11am-Noon. Cost is $20. Not only will we be celebrating Dust Bowl Days in Sayre July 17-19, Gallery@112 will be participating in Oklahoma's "Weekend of Local", a special small business event to encourage shopping local. We will be open Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-1pm. We will also be hosting the Barn Quilt Fest on the Shortgrass Country Museum grounds 9am-1pm. Stop by before or after the parade and see lots of barn quilts and visit with the artists. There will be some children's activities and free snow cones provided by the museum.

We appreciated Lisa Branson coming Saturday and leading another barn quilt class. The ladies turned out some really pretty designs, even the first-timers! We will be scheduling more classes this fall. Watch for them and join us. We also invite those who might have some barn quilts for sale (or just show off) to join us on the Shortgrass Country Museum grounds Saturday morning, July 18, 9-Noon, during the Dust Bowl Days activities in Sayre. We will have some children's activities, barn quilt patterns and ideas for those wanting to learn more about making barn quilts.
