The Blue Room (viewing room link in bio) • This summer, we are offering digitally curated viewing room experiences in which color is the main character.

Color speaks directly to our subconscious—evoking a mood, triggering a memory, or altering our sense of space. This collection is an exploration of that visceral dialogue.

We begin our color spotlight with shades of blue.

Link in bio to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: “At the second-floor landing, two nearly identical images of an Estill, S.C., water tower, snapped 24 years apart, hang side by side. Stewart had been working on a project along the Savannah River when he stopped his car to shoot an old mill in the middle of town. As he walked down the street, he saw the tower framed by two silos and could not pass up getting the shot. A few weeks later, he says he came across Leigh’s image of the same view for the first time. ‘It was just this great little sign of standing where he stood and not realizing it and having this little marker — I like to call them treasures,’ said Stewart.”

“That was a nice ‘deep cut’ that I thought was a quintessential Tybee moment about place. Sand floor. Beadboard wall. A basement in a Tybee beach house.” He [Stewart] continues, “I could easily curate an entire show of ‘deep cuts’ that no one has ever seen. It’s such an honor to be able to look through all that work. It’s really looking through his [Jack Leigh’s] entire career - 30 years of print.” - Savannah Morning News ()
