✨ A little Throwback Tuesday! ✨
The very first photo you see takes us back to around the time Savannah Ballet first began — inside the home of our very own director and owner, Suzanne Braddy. The studio was once a small room in the back of her house, complete with a tiny restroom that doubled as a costume-changing space! 🩰
To think about where this beautiful place we now call home began, and to see where it is today, is nothing short of incredible. Suzanne Braddy brought life, art, and dance to Savannah and, in doing so, created a beautiful community for fellow artists. She has provided countless opportunities and jobs for dancers, teachers, and artists, while most importantly spreading the love of dance throughout Savannah and beyond.
The following photos take us back to those early days. You’ll see our dancers performing at the opening of Ace Hardware right here on Wilmington Island, performing The Nutcracker inside a little hotel in downtown Savannah, and so many other special moments along the way.
But our favorite photo of all is the final one. ❤️
It features our owner, director, choreographer, teacher, and so much more, Suzanne Braddy, alongside her husband, Glenn Braddy, as they prepared to perform for their very own Savannah Ballet School.
What started in a small room inside a home grew into something so much bigger — a place filled with art, opportunity, friendship, memories, and, most importantly, a love for dance.
We are beyond grateful to be part of a school that has brought — and continues to bring — so much life and joy to Savannah, GA. We hope its story continues for generations to come. 🩰✨
