SBF congratulates 2026 Festival Author Steve Oney, who was announced as a finalist for Fordham’s Sperber Prize. From Fordham’s Department of Communication and Media Studies, the Fordham’s Sperber Prize honors biographies and memoirs focused on journalism and storytelling. This years winner will be announced on October 1st, 2026.

Meet Sophie Deal! She is our Marketing Design Coordinator through the student employment program at SCAD. A first year writing student, Sophie has moved to Savannah full time from West Virginia. She often spends her free time writing, reading, or cooking, and loves spending time with her five cats.
Her current favorite read is Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice. “ There’s something special about Rice’s talent to explore human emotion through the preternatural. Tale of the Body Thief is funny and bizarre, but holds something beautifully universal at its core. “
