🎨 We are partnering with Ars Gloria and the Tennessee Press Association to showcase a new statewide celebration of Tennessee’s visual arts!

Ars Gloria is bringing together artists, arts organizations, media partners, and communities from across the Volunteer State. Follow along and stay tuned for artist registration and upcoming announcements.

This week's feature:

What can a landscape remember?

Nashville artist Brady Haston moves through Tennessee history in paintings and drawings that connect nineteenth-century imagery, rural memory and the changing appearance of the state today.

Raised in Spencer, TN, Haston grew up surrounded by books about Tennessee history. His new Ars Gloria profile explores how those early influences, later research and years of close observation shaped an approach he describes as “jumping in and out of time.” The result is work concerned not only with what Tennessee looks like, but with how a place accumulates its stories.
