Congratulations to Jerome L. Duncan, Jr. ("JJ"), winner of the 2026 Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival Tee Shirt Design Contest!

JJ dreams of attending LSU, playing both basketball and football, and one day pursuing a career in professional sports, sports entertainment, or sports medicine.

As this year's winner, JJ's artwork will become the official 2026 SJFAF T-shirt design and will be featured throughout the community. He will also receive a $250 scholarship, a professional photo shoot, public recognition, and citywide promotion of his winning artwork.

Congratulations to our 2026 Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival Committee member, Kareem McMichael on this huge accomplishment!

From student storyteller to mentor, educator and digital media professional, Kareem McMichael continues to make an impact both on campus and beyond. 🐯✨

A proud Savannah State University alumnus, Kareem earned his degree in Mass Communications in 2009, where he sharpened his skills as a reporter, anchor, producer and campus leader. Today, he serves as Online Content Manager in the Department of Journalism & Mass Communications, helping shape the next generation of communicators while advising The Tiger's Roar and co-advising PRSSA-SSU.

Recently, Kareem took the TEDxSavannah stage to share his talk, Shaping the Future—a reflection of his commitment to innovation, storytelling and empowering others through communication.

Whether he's creating content, mentoring students or representing Savannah State on larger platforms, Kareem embodies what it means to be a Tiger Trailblazer.
