As our 2026 Executive Board meets for the first time today, it seems like a good moment to look back fondly at 2025's accomplishments and the words of Savannah Performing Arts Festival gala honorees Rayshawn Roberts, Ken Roberson, and Kendra Norwood Brown. May they and all of our region's artists continue to lift us up and represent the best of humanity.

Today we are celebrating writers, starting at 11am with a spotlight interview with Rick Garman, writer/producer of 20 Christmas movies for Hallmark Channel, Great American Family, and more. At noon, it's the 10-Minute Plays "First Draft," where we will debut 3 new short works by local writers and give the audience a chance to rewrite them! Please note our food truck scheduled for today cancelled, but you're welcome to bring your own lunch to enjoy while you watch the show. At 1pm, local writers discuss the art of creating works for the stage. Then at 7pm, the 10-Minute Plays "Final Draft" where you'll see the 3 plays performed at lunch incorporating the changes and 3 more new works. The Savannah Performing Arts Festival continues with a day built for improvisational performance. We're kicking it off at 11am with a moderated panel all about Paranormal Performance, as some of the city's foremost experts explain how they make things go bump in the night. Then at noon, our performing arts lunch features hilarious improv comics showing off their stuff. Bring your own lunch or purchase food at the event from the Bowtie BBQ truck! At 1pm its a moderated panel on the art of improv comedy followed by the Improv Games at 2pm, where audience members will become part of the action! Finally, tonight at 7pm, its Improv Stars After Dark, a no-holds barred show at Club One. Don't miss this anything-could-happen day! Tickets and info at https://onstagesavannah.com/improvday/

Look at all of the incredible programming we have for you in Week 2 of the Savannah Performing Arts Festival! Monday, February 17 is our Spotlight Show 10-Minute Cabaret featuring some of the best singers in Savannah. Tuesday, February 18 is Improv Day with panels on paranormal performance and the art of improv, plus and improv show at lunch, an improv game event, and an improv show at night! Wednesday, February 19 is Writing Day, with a spotlight interview with Hallmark Christmas movie writer Rick Garman, a lunchtime show featuring new works by local writers, a panel on writing for the stage, and a game show, followed by more original works by local writers! Thursday, February 20 is Theatre Day, with panels on producing and behind the scenes work, a lunchtime preview of our SOLD OUT performing arts gala, and a Broadway sing along. Then we close out the festival with three more performances of A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. Tickets and info at OnStagesSavannah.com/Fest/
