I know it's 95 degrees but I'm thinking about Christmas and how a nice BLT dulcimer would be a great gift and to encourage early ordering . I'm not getting any younger so give me a holler . I just got some real nice sycamore . It has some nice figure to it and would be a great soundboard for your dulcimer . Looking forward to your continued patronage.

Just finished my latest build for a friend in my home state of SC . Wormy chestnut top with a spalted cherry back , cherry sides and a flame koa peghead overlay . This is American chestnut which died out from a blight back at the turn of the last century. This particular piece came from an old barn and is at least 130 years old. Chestnut was as common as oak before the blight. It's got a sweet sound and even smells sweet when you saw it. Cherry also has a lovely smell when sawed . Together in a dulcimer the sweetness still comes out . Why it's like throwing a party for your ears and your soul at the same time . I've still got some nice cherry and chestnut so let us build one for you . Here at the Dulcimer Shop , quality is job one. PS I have a clip of me playing this dulcimer I will post when I figure out how. 😎

Sorting through my wood stack today and found some real nice cherry . Dear Reader, you need a cherry dulcimer that's all there is to it. I have enough Hawaiian Koa for one instrument . When it's gone I won't be having anymore. Found a sycamore top with spalting. Last but not lease enough Bubinga to do back and sides . I may use spruce on the top or maybe western cedar. making some real nice dulcimers . Drop me a line and let's get one going for you . How about a curly maple with a 130 year old wormy chestnut top ? Ok, cherry with a chestnut top ? I ship all over the US and have sent a few to the UK and France . I 'll keep building til I can't .
