A winter walk in south Finland’s lovely, clean and energetically green, town of Lappeenranta. When I lived in Savonlinna (I took classes at an art school and I tutored English for students going to the Language Institute as well as for other schools and private clientele).
I met a fellow student (Hannu Lappalainen)who was from this featured town.
On weekend breaks, he would travel home, and returned to Savonlinna with a tasty gift from his mother (who I never met). Sweet rolls… seasoned with cardamon. Very YUM. So gracious.
