I have a strange question. I am the Drama Teacher at LVA. I lent costumes to a local parent who was helping with Addams Family at another school a couple of years ago. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I need the costumes back, but I cannot remember who borrowed them! Anyone?

POPS and BTS Arts were spared sue to public outcry - so thank you!

This would be an assault on arts education-please help the future of the arts in our state.

PLEASE HELP**
Today (1/15/2026) the Utah State Board of Education was told to cut their budget by 5% by the Utah Legislature. As a result, they have decided to eliminate the POPS program (Professional Arts Outreach) that sends professional groups like The Utah Symphony, Utah Shakespeare Festival. Ballet West and many more into schools FOR FREE all across the state of Utah. https://le.utah.gov/interim/2024/pdf/00000678.pdf
This program was created in Utah in 1969. I guarantee that if you went to school in Utah you were affected by this program in some way (in 4th grade did you get to see the Utah Symphony for free at a high school in your district? Did a traveling Utah Shakespeare show get performed at your school- for free?).
To completely eliminate a program that has done so much good in our state for 57 years can and should not happen. Please send a short email TODAY to [email protected]
And let them know the value of this program to yourself or your student. This is especially important to smaller schools in rural areas that don’t get a chance to take students to these organizations because they are too far away or too expensive for them. Get your parents and students to contact them today!
