During , we’re reflecting on the powerful role the arts can play in healing, connection, and overall well-being. 💛

On May 2, our President, Chris Shiley, and members of the S**C Education team attended the culminating performance of Ritual4Return at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), a community arts program centered on creativity, wellness, and human connection.

With a shared belief in the transformative power of the arts, S**C and NJPAC both strive to create spaces where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered through artistic expression. Experiences like this continue to inspire our commitment to community-centered arts programming that nurtures the whole person.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and continue building relationships with organizations equally passionate about the impact of the arts on well-being.

The end of March was a busy one for Jess Bien, our Director of Learning and Engagement. She traveled to 11 schools across the Capital Region, serving as a host and presenter for 16 Classical Kids performances. 💛

We asked Jess to reflect on the experience, and here’s what she shared:
"Bringing the wonder of music to student audiences through our Classical Kids program has been incredibly meaningful, and what stays with me most isn’t just the music, but the students. Watching them lean in, light up, and truly feel something is what drives us and why we’re so deeply devoted to this work and to making music accessible to all. When students experience live classical music up close, you can see the shift, the spark of curiosity, the opening of imagination, and the beginning of a connection that can last a lifetime. It’s been a joy to witness and even more meaningful to invite them to continue that journey at S**C.”

Classical Kids reaches 10,000+ students each year across 70+ schools, introducing young audiences to the arts through interactive performances with professional dancers and musicians. Students also receive free tickets to experience a performance at S**C.
