Our two-day ā€˜Flip flops on the Groundā€™ petition driveā€”spending two hours each day setup on the east side of the bridge ā€” was wildly successful. During bridge openings, while drivers were paused, we approached them to talk about restoring our historic landmark. In just four total hours, 125 people signed our petition, while fewer than 10 declined.

That is an overwhelming 95% approval rate from real people sitting in real traffic. The community message was unanimous:

Do not demolish our heritageā€”restore it.ā€

Creativity is one of the ways I practice aloha. šŸŒŗ

This week, I had the joy of creating alongside an incredible community of artists during the Make Create Express 2026 Creative Retreat. Every brushstroke, stitch, and connection was a reminder that creativity isnā€™t about perfectionā€”itā€™s about being present.

Thank you to all of the amazing artists who shared this journey, and especially to Galia Alena, the magician behind the curtain who made it all possible.

My heart is full, my creative spirit is renewed.

Every piece I createā€”whether itā€™s a painting, a journal page, or a quilloā€”begins the same way: with curiosity, gratitude, and a desire to create something that brings comfort and joy.
