After hanging out in despair all day, looking at pictures of polar bears and whales, (eating popcorn out of a plastic bag and putting the air conditioning unnecessarily low) - I decided that the polar bears, birds, tigers, oceans do not need us to hang out in despair, for long periods; maybe, for me, anyhow - keep it in the background and do all I can do. Vote. Cut out using plastic bags at Publix - be a small voice in Florida. Don't yell at folks who do not believe in global warming; invite a conversation. The Indians believed we are the consciousness of the planet - the eyes, the ears. This is not a lecture, we all have to find our own way - but sometimes the very personal speaks to the universal. Off for a walk - and a commune with the alligators.
