Coming in hot with the Lady Disdain community engagement events...

Last night, the Sarasota Co. Culture Collective joined us for a pre-show discussion with Asolo Rep’s Director of New Works and Dramaturgy, James Monaghan! After the discussion, attendees enjoyed a performance of Lady Disdain!

This Saturday is our final IllumiNation event of the season, and our guest speaker is Sarasota County’s Libraries and Historical Resources, Programs and Partnerships Manager, Katie Dow. The library will be bringing their mobile Pop-Up Library full of Romantasy books and Shakespeare adaptations!

Join us for our final ASL-interpreted performance of the season! Catch the interpreted matinee of Lady Disdain on Sunday, June 14 at 1:30 PM.

Lady Disdain is a fast-paced, razor-sharp riff on the deliciously dramatic world of Fantasy Romance novels (yes, those ones—you know them, you love them). Beatrice and Benedict, rival audiobook narrators, are locked in a battle of wits, words, and wildly inconvenient attraction.

To get details or purchase ASL-designated seating, email [email protected]! ASL-reserved seats are not available online, so please contact us directly to secure yours.

Wit. Romance. Rivalry. Laughter.

Go behind the scenes of Lady Disdain as the cast shares their thoughts on the characters, the humor, and the playful rivalry at the heart of Lauren Gunderson’s sharp new comedy.

Now on stage through June 27.

Connections were made, ideas were shared, and new opportunities took shape. 🤝✨

On June 4th, Asolo Repertory Theatre and the Asolo Business Council were the Venue Sponsors for the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce's YPG After Hours event, partnering with Event Sponsor, Caldwell Trust.

Attendees connected with fellow professionals, exchanged ideas with local business leaders, and explored ways to collaborate and strengthen our community. They also had a sneak peek at the set of Lady Disdain, walked away with two complimentary tickets to see the show, and enjoyed a conversation between Terrance Jackson, Direction of Education & Engagement, and Lawrence Moten, the scenic designer for Lady Disdain.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of conversation, connection, and inspiration.
