PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY, BASED IN THE SARASOTA-MANATEE AREA OF FLORIDA, IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE STARLITE ROOM. Jo Morello founded and was producing artistic director of Starlite Players, which operated from July 2015 through November 2016, after which time it lost its performance space. Starlite Players produced an evening of new, short comedies--up to 30 minutes running time--for one long weekend each month in Sarasota. They showcased the talents of theater professionals based in the Tampa Bay area. The comedies were directed by experienced directors, performed by gifted actors, and supported by technical and other personnel with roots in the community. By the time Starlite Players closed it had produced 61 new plays, provided work for over 150 theater professionals, and entertained some 1,000 audience members. The company’s history, production photos and other information are presented at www.starliteplayers.com.
