The 24th Annual Giving Hunger the Blues music festival will take place at Nathan Benderson Park on Sunday, February 6, 2022. All proceeds benefit the Mayors Feed the Hungry Program, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. A contribution to this all-volunteer program means your money goes to feed the hungry! All money collected stays in our communities and is used for food vouchers that are distribute
d throughout the year by local churches, civic groups and social services agencies. Giving Hunger the Blues was founded by George Generoso, former owner of the now-closed Five O‘clock Club live music venue, out of a desire for Sarasota and Bradenton residents to participate in giving back to the community without having to purchase high-priced tickets for black tie events and galas. What began as an afternoon of music at the Five O’clock Club, grew into the preeminent outdoor music festival in Sarasota each year. After re-launching the event in 2015, Peter Anderson is the event’s Chair and Producer. And now in 2022, The Jazz Club of Sarasota has joined as the co-producer of the event to make it bigger and better than ever! This impeccable organization is dedicated to providing an ever-expanding offering of great Jazz and Blues contemporary music to the community. This partnership is committed to promoting music not only for audiences, but providing a space for musicians and artists to thrive!
