Join the FSU/Asolo Class of 2023 in a one-night-only Valentine's benefit performance of Joe DiPietro's FU***NG MEN, starring 3rd-year actors Joe Ayers and Evan Stevens. All proceeds from this performance will be used to help the actors of the class of 2023 pay their fees to join Actors' Equity Association after graduation and start their careers. This special event is graciously being hosted by the Urbanite Theatre in Downtown Sarasota!

THE STORY: FU***NG MEN is a free-wheeling adaptation of the 19th century play La Ronde, in which ten men in ten scenes sleep with and seduce one another; each encounter subtly, sometimes radically, changing their lives. The search for emotional fulfillment—the thread that connects the episodes in La Ronde—is given fresh resonance in Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro’s hilarious and heartwarming take on the German classic, transposed to the gay subculture in contemporary Manhattan.

We're back! Join us on Monday, November 14th in the FSU/Asolo Cooley Studio for a night of music and monologues.
If there's one thing our masters program has taught us, it's to go after what we want and manifest positive things for our future. What better way to begin on that journey than to bring in materials from our dream roles? Learn more about each member of our cohort during this cabaret style performance which begins at 7pm and is entirely free! That's right! Its free!
What roles do you think you're going to see performed? Or what are some of your dream roles?! Leave a comment below!

Yesterday was a wonderful day for part of our cohort as they got to perform Looking for Ithaca: an Odyssey for their first real audience. Nine of our eleven have been working on the tour of Looking for Ithaca: an Odyssey, a new show by the playwright .marie.shoemaker ! After a week of uncertainty and a couple performances being cancelled, it was absolutely wonderful to see both the audience and cast members get to experience the magic of theatre once more. For those who were planning to see our Cook show, we invite you to come to the Sarasota Art Museum this Sunday at 1pm for a free community showing. Thank you for all your support and keep a look out for event notices coming soon!

Happy Friday! The class of 2023 was lucky enough to have J. Elijah Cho come and speak with our class about life as a working artist and his current tour of Mr. Yunioshi ( his one man show which is currently sold out this weekend BUT has tickets available next weekend in St. Pete ). We want to give another huge thank you to J. Elijah and his mother for taking their time to visit us. It’s professionals and artists like these who continue to give us inspiration and motivation to make the most out of our final year at the conservatory. A piece of advice from J. Elijah that we think is important for all to hear is “move the needle.” Be it in your art, your interactions with others, or in life in general, lead with the idea of moving the needle.

Have you ever wondered what our first year as MFA students looked like? Well, this was it. Our class has gone through an insane amount of mediums together including a full year on zoom. Because of this we are planning on utilizing the platform we grew to know too well and bring you events happening online as well as in person. A hybrid! So, if you aren’t in the area don’t worry! You can join along in the fun. Keep an eye on this page S we’ll be announcing some fun stuff very soon!
