Sailor Circus The Greatest "Little" Show on Earth, est. 1949 πŸŽͺ
(212)

Sailor Circus now in it’s seventh decade of operation has grown from a small high school gymnastics class in 1949 to the present spectacular 4 ring youth circus production known world wide as the Greatest "Little" Show on Earth. Students from the 4th through 12th grades in Sarasota and surrounding counties have an opportunity to experience the performing arts in a circus atmosphere. Our dedicated

students practice 20 - 30 hours a week and are trained by volunteer coaches who are retired circus performers, sailor circus alumni and enthusiastic parents. More than 200 volunteers donating over 25,000 hours of their time each season to Sailor Circus demonstrates strong community involvement.

πŸŽͺ✨ Senior Spotlight: Addi

What started as an after-school activity in 6th grade became something far greater. Over seven years, Addi Von Wowern grew up inside the ring, shaped by the memories, friendships, and skills that only the Sailor Circus can provide.

As a Roman Rings artist, Addi was pushed both physically and mentally in ways she never could have imagined when she first began. Central to that growth was her coach, Dolly, whose patience, guidance, and unwavering belief made all the difference on the hardest days. Dolly saw Addi's potential even when Addi couldn't see it herself, helping her become stronger, more disciplined, and more resilient with every training.

πŸ’¬ "I especially want to thank the Sailor Circus for giving me a place to challenge myself, build confidence, and discover a passion I never expected."

As she prepares to head off to college, Addi describes the feeling as bittersweet. It is hard to say goodbye to a place that has truly felt like home, but she carries everything the Sailor Circus has given her into the exciting chapter ahead.

πŸ‘ Join us in celebrating Addi and wishing her all the best in college and beyond!

πŸŽͺ✨ Senior Spotlight: Emmi

After seven incredible years, Emmi Tvenstrup has grown into a true multi-discipline artist, mastering Lyra, Dance Trapeze, and Cloudswing in a journey that has shaped her far beyond the performance.

On Cloudswing, she learned to trust herself even when it feels scary. On Dance Trapeze, she discovered that every detail matters and that trust is everything, building an unbreakable partnership with her act partner, Anna. Lyra challenged her differently, demanding precision, control, and the courage to push through when a trick feels impossible. Through it all, her coaches never let her quit, and that made all the difference.

πŸ’¬ "Sailor Circus has given me more than just skills, it has given me strength, resilience, and a mindset that will stay with me for the rest of my life."

Beyond the artistry, Emmi found something even greater here: a family. The bonds built through shared effort, trust, and experiences unlike anywhere else are ones she'll carry with her always, alongside the endless support of her own family who cheered her on every step of the way.

As she steps into her next chapter, Emmi takes with her the lessons of her coaches, the love of her circus family, and a strength that was built one act at a time.

πŸ‘ Join us in celebrating Emmi and wishing her all the best ahead!
