The BluSeed Studios Board of Directors is excited to join in sharing that the BluSeed building is in the last stages of being sold to ceramics artist and long time BluSeed ceramics Studio Manager Jazen Reuss, as Cedar Street Studios. The sale has been in process for awhile, but needed to be approved by the NYS Attorney General’s office before it could move forward. That approval came through recently and the final arrangements are being made to complete the sale in early 2026. There has been a concerted effort to make this sale possible as it means the BluSeed building will continue as a community art center. Although there are changes as it will move forward as a commercial business, not a non-profit, it will continue to be an art center.
This Adirondack Daily Enterprise article does a good job of describing this sale. “It is the outcome the board had hoped for the building. Having Jazen at the helm means the spirit of BluSeed will continue.” BluSeed Board President Jill Michalsky.
Local ceramics artist Jazen Reuss is preparing to reopen the former BluSeed Studios arts center as Cedar Street Studios.
Months after BluSeed — a pillar of the local arts community — dissolved amid a “dire” financial situation, Reuss is preparing to purchase the building, renovate it and start holding arts classes, gallery showings and music performances by the start of summer.
