The drive-in theatre was built in 1949 and opened on May 5, 1950. The TeePee Drive-In Movie Theater is a great family experience, with even the option to lodge in one of the renovated Spartan Campers. Food truck offerings along with the traditional movie fares will make a late-night movie an excellent experience. Best of all, dogs are allowed leashed on-site.

And then there are the rare few who leave behind a little more light than they found.

This Wednesday, September 2, the Teepee Drive-In is changing our schedule to honor the life and legacy of Dolly Parton.

We’ll gather beneath the Oklahoma sky to watch Steel Magnolias—a story of friendship, strength, love, laughter, and the kind of heartache that somehow reminds us just how beautiful life can be.

Dolly had a way of making people feel like they belonged. Through her music, her films, her generosity, and her unmistakable spirit, she showed us that kindness is never wasted, that dreams are worth chasing, and that a person’s greatest legacy may simply be the lives they made a little brighter.

So this Wednesday, we invite you to bring your family, your friends, and your memories of Dolly.

🧱✨ WE’VE GOT SOME LEGO LEGENDS! ✨🧱
What a night at the Teepee Drive-In! Our LEGO Contest brought out some seriously talented builders—and let’s just say, choosing the winners was TOUGH! 🏆
We had TWO creative challenges:
🚗 MASTER BUILDER — Bring your own LEGO creation and show us what you’ve got!
🛣️ LEGO BUILD-OFF — Builders were given a set of LEGO bricks and 30 minutes or less to create their very own spontaneous Route 66 road trip vehicle! Talk about building under pressure!
And we had TWO age groups:
👦 12 & Under
🧑 13 & Older
Our winners absolutely came out and SHINED! 🌟 But honestly…so did EVERYONE who grabbed some bricks, got creative, and gave it their best shot. 🧱
A HUGE thank-you to Lily, our librarian, and her mom for taking on the nearly impossible job of judging. With so many amazing creations, we definitely did NOT make it easy on them!
And THANK YOU to everyone who came out, built, laughed, cheered, and helped make the night such a fun one at the Teepee.

Malakai brought along his incredible model of the Dominator weather-tracking vehicle, complete with working lights and an anchor system! 🚨

But this isn’t just a hobby for Malakai. He dreams of one day joining the ranks of legendary storm chaser Reed Timmer and chasing some of nature’s most powerful storms himself.
