Tuesdays treasures of wisdom: Don't depend on yourself to be all you want to be; but look to the Lord, your maker, to lift your sights up to see yourself through Him. Jesus gives us the light and the water of life to nourish and strengthen us to have the right outlook and view of ourselves. We are perfect through HIm. Seems like as women that our feelings about ourselves can be influenced by what our husband thinks of us. We can feel ugly, ignorant, sad or sometimes beautiful, glad, and accepted. However, I was thinking this morning of the one who gives the beauty, purpose, and joy. In Isaiah 62:3-4 he is speaking of the people God is married to (Hepzibah, the land of Beaulah) “Thou shalt be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. . . For the Lord delights in thee.” He is the giver of beauty. We are only dirt and ashes but our Lord gives us beauty to be a light and joy to guide our children into paths of righteousness. He also wants to crown us with loving kindness and tender mercies. In Isaiah 61:3 He gives beauty “. . . to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Seems like as women that our feelings about ourselves can be influenced by what our husband thinks of us. We can feel ugly, ignorant, sad or sometimes beautiful, glad, and accepted.
