The Ballets Jazz of Montreal came to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo for a performance. A master class was also offered and our students were fortunate enough to be invited to attend. It was given by one of their soloists, Miss Zoey Anderson. Miss Anderson, dancer for 10 years with the prestigious Parson Dance Company, travelled the world before recently joining the Ballets Jazz Montréal . She also has been featured in film, Broadway, Dance Magazine as well as receiving the Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer in 2018 and the Clive Barnes Dance Artist Award in 2019.
It was a great opportunity for our students, Allison Feinberg, Kennedy and Taylor Kemp, to discover an exciting and more contemporary style of jazz from such an accomplished dancer and teacher filled with passion and enthusiasm for her craft. It had contagious effects on all the students in the room!
The warm-up included the foundations of any dance style including plies and tendus, evolving in a fluid, flowing series of movements to conclude with learning an excerpt from “Dance Me” their touring piece, a masterpiece set to the music of legendary Leonard Cohen, with incredible speed and amazing direction changes. Our students welcomed the challenging choreography and enjoyed themselves to the fullest. The Little Film Fest is more than four days of films. It’s a way to help give the Little Theater at Santa Ynez High School a future.
Funds raised at this event will support improvements including new stage and audience lighting, sound equipment, a new stage floor, backdrop curtain and rigging, sound dampening, new seating and carpeting, and a state-of-the-art projection system. We’ll also be helping improve the lobby, dressing rooms and ticketing window.
These upgrades will create a better space for students, local arts organizations, performances, community events and, one day, movies again.

ITS 41ST YEAR OF DEDICATION TO THE ART OF DANCE,
WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE OUR FIRST PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON CONTRIBUTING TO THE DANISH DAYS FESTIVITIES.

IT WILL BE HELD NEXT SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 19TH AT 9:00 A.M.
THE STAGE, BLEACHERS AND CANOPY ARE LOCATED
IN THE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE SOLVANG PARK.

IT IS FREE OF CHARGE AND MOST BENEFICIAL FOR OUR YOUNG STUDENTS TO SEE, TO INSPIRE THEM IN THE FIELD OF DANCE.

ADULT CLASSES RESUMING AT THE FOSSEMALLE DANCE STUDIO...
Always wanted to experience the beauty of ballet...here is your chance as we are planning for a Beginner Adult Ballet on Thursday evening....to begin October 1st. Register now, enrollment limited!
Ballet has incredible benefits both physically and mentally; it helps develop great posture, coordination, balance, camaraderie and it is a wonderful and rewarding escape through movements and beautiful music from your daily life!

We also offer on-going classes at the Intermediate levels for those of you wishing to continue refining your skills or returning to your training after being away for many reasons of life...reconnecting from the past!

The Fossemalle Dance Studio 41st years of Dedication to the Art of Dance in the Valley is beginning
on Tuesday September 8th with classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop at various levels, for youngsters and adults alike.
A wide range of new beginner classes are offered to satisfy the demand as showcased on the flyers!

REGISTRATION DAY BEFORE CLASSES RESUME IS
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 1ST FROM 2.30 P.M. UNTIL 5.00 P.M.
***LIMITED ENROLLMENT PER CLASS TO ENSURE PROPER INSTRUCTION.***

Students with experience can be evaluated for proper placement by private appointments also.

The Fossemalle Dance Studio begins its 41st year of Dedication to the Art of Dance on September 8th with additional classes specifically created for homeschoolers as well as preschoolers.
Registration for these new classes is just beginning, with limited enrollment. Anyone is welcome to share the attached flyer with them.

HEARTFELT THANKS AND CONGRATULATIONS
FROM EACH DANCER OF THE SANTA YNEZ VALLEY PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY AND ALL CHOREOGRAPHERS TO :
MISS SARAH LONGORIA FRAZIER, ONE OF THE COMPANY’S FIRST GRADUATES, GAINING HER MASTERS IN DANCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH AND RUNNING HER OWN DANCE COMPANY FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

Originally Miss Sarah offered to volunteer to assist for rehearsals, driving 11 hours from Salt Lake City to arrive at the first finale rehearsal at the dance Studio on a Friday afternoon.
She did so brilliantly the entire week, giving her expertise on technical as well as artistic points to all the dancers.
Due to other unfortunate circumstances, she, on the spot, accepted the challenge of becoming our STAGE MANAGER!!! AND A FIVE STAR STAGE MANAGER AT THAT!!!

ADDING WITH GRACE AND PROFESSIONALISM TO HER LOAD THE TEACHING OF OUR WARM-UP CLASS BEFORE EVERY PERFORMANCE!!

Miss Sarah, we are most grateful to you for your time and dedication. Witnessing you doing all the above was a generous gift and a heartwarming full circle!!
