When I listened to this I cried. Cried for the ignorance of those who oppress others. When will women stand up together and say enough is enough. No more wars, no more sons now daughters will be sacrificed. We are all children of the earth and the earth has many gardens with many colors. We are all children of the earth, flowers of beauty and color. How dare we allow men of any persuasion enslave us with their fears and bigotry. I am so tired of the ignorance.

when will we ever change. Wars, hate and lies so sad. I loved Dr. King his message was one of the heart and soul. Change is hard but if we come together as a true community working on Peace we might have a good chance, I have faith.

Sonoma County remembers feminist great Gloria Steinem and her impact, by Kerry Benefield, Press Democrat, published 9/5/2026.. Gloria Steinem passed away on 9/2/2026 at age of 92. Elaine B. Holtz is one who remembers: Excerpt: Steinem was fierce and “uncompromising,” said Elaine Holtz, who for years hosted the “Women’s Spaces” radio show on KBBF before retiring this summer.
“I would say her tenacity,” Holtz said when asked about Steinem’s legacy. “Her willingness to speak out and hold her values even though sometimes she wasn’t agreed with. I think that is the biggest lesson we can learn from women like her.”
Holtz, like many other women, expressed concern that the nation is moving backward under President Trump’s administration — that hard-fought victories of equality are being dismantled.
“They are trying to take a lot away from women,” Holtz said, while dismissing the argument that it is all part of the pendulum swing of politics. “It will swing back but look at all the dead bodies while it’s swinging.”

Gloria Steinem visited Santa Rosa in 2017, but her legacy among Sonoma County women goes deep. The feminist icon is remembered locally as a giant of the movement.
