Attempting to take time for quiet reflection working on this new piece during our social distancing (although the background noise currently made by my two energetic little girls is posing a bit of a challenge tbh 🧐...)

Be smart and safe out there, wash your hands, cough in your elbow, stay home as much as possible and really reconsider how much toilet paper you actually need... 🤦‍♀️

Beer label 2 of 3 for 🖤🍺 Try their lager brewed with mesquite smoked barley called “Smoke on the Lager”, available at your local ! The art was a drawing I did last year that I flipped and did white on black to get that cool smoky feel, cheers! 🍻

Very excited to finally be able to share this with everyone, it’s been a project that has been in the works since the middle of last year and finally it’s ready! 🥳🎉

I’ve designed a few beer labels for , with a couple using my drawings for the artwork. First up, Petaluma Pils, an unfiltered Bavarian style Pilsner that tastes delicious and comes in a pretty sweet package 😉. Featured on it is “Triangle”, a line drawing I did a few years ago that is one of my personal favorites (swipe to see the original one)!

They’re available now at Oliver’s Markets here in Sonoma County, pick yourself up a four pack to enjoy on this unseasonably warm February day (I’m not complaining though ☀️), cheers!

Latest finished piece you can see in Montgomery Village entitled “Wander” done in what I’m calling my “in flux” style. (Finally nailing down names for these styles, harder to come up with than creating the actual work!) It made me think of a lot of the trails I’ve been running on lately and although not in a literal sense, nature is a definite inspiration for me 🌿

Apologies for being MIA for awhile here, it’s been a bit crazy the past few months with an unanticipated very stressful move (which thankfully worked out for the better!) and the holidays and whatnot so art had been put on hold 😕. Now we’re back with new pieces in progress and I can’t wait to make more! Really happy with my new painting space (it is part of the bedroom but there’s a balcony! And all the light!) and feeling very inspired lately, too many ideas and not enough time *sigh*...

Newest piece! I’m channeling my inner unicorn 🦄 or bird 🦢 with this one I think, loving the softness of it, she’s just pretty (maybe it’s because of the makeup brushes I used on her😉)!

Come check her out at Fern Bar today for the Barlow Midsummer Art Show from 1-7pm and grab a drink and a snack while you’re there (the chicken liver mousse is amaze balls 🤤), happy Saturday!

Experimentation is the inspiration for artist, Vineta Rutkovskis. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she grew up with an intense passion for creativity and has constantly searched for ways to express it. She has flourished in the culinary arts both professionally and at home, (her two beautiful little girls are treated to some quite elaborate birthday cakes), she studied art at UC Davis but found the traditional school system to be too restrictive, so is primarily self taught. She loves to repurpose objects and find new uses for things that would normally be thrown away. Drawing and painting were revisited after her children were born and inspired her to express herself through color, lines, shapes.

Repetition, patterns, how things integrate together are what she draws from creatively—call it a need to keep order in the chaos of life. Her artwork must have cohesion in how one line distinctively intersects with many others, to how one paint color flawlessly blends into the next. She allows one approach—be it color, a pen stroke, a shape—to influence what will complement the piece next, while limiting herself typically to three to four techniques per piece, sometimes only one. Her plan is that there is no plan, only the idea that simplicity when repeated blossoms into intrigue.
