Ongoing armed conflicts, 2024. So along with protesting the killing of Palestinians with your US tax dollars, how about protesting the killing of Mexicans with your US Co***ne dollars? How about the killing of Sudanese and Burkina Fasoans with your US gasoline dollars?
If you're outraged that the US government is paying for Israel's weapons, that seems like a pretty legit outrage, and it also seems like that's between you and your government in Washington DC. You're the one literally paying for it.
If the outrage is directed at Israel or its people however, and you're *more* outraged at Israelis for slaughtering innocents in Gaza than you are at al Qaeda and ISIS slaughtering innocents in Africa, or the Burmese slaughtering innocents in Myanmar, or cartels slaughtering innocents in Mexico, have you checked on your racism lately?

FYI: the terms Right and Left come from the sides of Assembly Hall in Paris where the constitution for the new Republic of France was being drafted after the French Revolutionaries won and beheaded the king and many of the nobility. The surviving nobility, arguing for a restoration of the monarchy and known as royalists, monarchists, or restorationists, sat on the Right wing of the hall. The revolutionaries, arguing for a democratic republic, sat on the Left. Not much has changed. Look behind the populist facade and you'll find a GOP that is thoroughly dominated by wealthy industrialists and financiers descended directly from the royal houses of Europe. Barons, Earls, Dukes, Counts, Kings, Princes, etc. The DuPonts, Gettys, Rockefeller's, Vanderbilts, Bushes, and on and on and on.... The "Right" is literally anti-republic AND anti-democracy. They want to return to the days of the original multi-national corporation: the Dutch East India Company, and its English brother, the East India Company, more wealthy and powerful than any government or national army on earth, claiming divine right of power over all the planet, literally bestowed by GOD through their "noble" bloodlines, colonizing everything as empire and claiming it, including people-- as serfs, slaves, indentured servants, employees, tenants-- as their property. Yes, this IS reality. Or as Pink Floyd sings, "No, this is not a bad dream."

You've gotta read this. I haven't said much lately about this war because frankly I have outrage fatigue after getting worked up into a profoundly unhealthy mental condition on a frequent basis for 26 years (thank you KPFA and your nearly totally myopic view of world news /s) about 2 relatively small (nation-wise) groups of people on the other side of the world treating each other with absolute barbarity, as they have been doing for 3,000 years, (4,500?) almost constantly. If that sounds like "both-sides-ism", maybe it is, but I'm not equating the two sides, or saying they are the same. I'm saying they have been treating each other with unspeakable barbarity for my entire life, and half of recorded history. I'm done losing my mental health over it, sorry.
But THIS: systematically shooting babies and small children IN THE HEAD. Anyone telling you that professional snipers are "accidentally" putting single bullets into hundreds of babies and toddlers, coincidentally right in the "skull or left side of the chest," is a damned liar.

XX athletes should not have to compete physically against XY athletes in a world where ethics exist. Take all the subjective or arbitrary "gender" labels out of it. This isn't about bathrooms, or identification, or equal rights in civil society. This is about the athletic arena, where XY athletes, like the two boxers in the Olympics (and many others), have myriad undisputed advantages from birth by way of the XY chromosomes in their cells, which are defined by the sciences of biology and genetics as "male." I don't care who they marry, which locker room they use, or what their passports say-- that's none of my business. But "In 2019, the Court of Arbitration for Sport found a “striking overrepresentation” of athletes with XY DSD on the female podium, going back decades." -- Washington Post. That's not fair play.
