Join us in honoring Juneteenth and the 55th Annual Martin Luther King/Juneteenth Festival! 💚🖤❤️

The Board of Supervisors has officially proclaimed June 19 as Juneteenth Day in Sonoma County. This day marks the moment in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally received word of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

This year also celebrates the 55th anniversary of the Martin Luther King/Juneteenth Festival, born from a student-led effort at Santa Rosa Junior College to keep Dr. King’s dream alive.

Don’t miss the Juneteenth Community Festival on Saturday, June 14, at Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa. Enjoy music, dance, art, food, cultural history, the presentation of scholarship awards and more! All are welcome to this free, family-friendly event celebrating diversity and strength through history.
