I have been teaching this ongoing FREE class for nearly 2 decades and I have been working in the genre of Solo Theatre for over 20 years. I have directed & developed over 200 solo shows, produced hundreds of solo shows, and toured successfully with my own award-winning solo shows, and I would be honored and excited to help guide YOU into your own success as a Solo Artist.

ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS WELCOME, and no material needed to bring to the virtual class as I always provide a writing prompt. If you do have a solo excerpt you wish to share, that option will be available too. Feel free to email me directly at [email protected] with any questions.

As part of our planning for the upcoming 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the City of Culver City’s Cultural Affairs Division has released three Requests for Proposals for creative partners for our 2028 Cultural Program Framework.

2028 Games - Cultural Programs - City of Culver City

Our goal is to build strong regional networks, elevate historically marginalized voices, and activate our public spaces with impactful programming leading up to and during the Games. Given the collaborative nature of these initiatives, we are working to connect directly with visionary independent contractors, arts organizations, and cultural presenters.

Seeking proposals for the following three opportunities.

1. Independent Cultural Producer: Seeking a strategic liaison to coordinate alignment between Culver City’s programming and regional/international partners, including LA28 and regional arts organizations (includes quarterly reporting to the Cultural Affairs Commission).

2. Lead Arts Partner – Dance & Choreography: Seeking proposals for a live performance series or festival. We are highly encouraging concepts that creatively activate Culver City's urban infrastructure and public spaces by tying choreography to athletic, martial arts, or global performance traditions.

3. Lead Arts Partner – Music Performance ("Sounds of Screenland"): Seeking organizers to develop music programming that centers on Jazz and addresses the loose theme of film scores to connect with our city's cinematic heritage, with an eye toward building collaborative networks with neighboring scenes like Leimert Park.

The deadline for all applications is July 30, 2026.
