TRAIN TO ZAKOPANE: A true story of hate and love, by Henry Jaglom, reveals humanity in the most unlikely of places – prejudice. This original new play, which will have its World Premiere October 24th at the Edgemar Center for the Arts, is based upon true events that occurred in the life of Henry Jaglom’s father as he crossed Poland on a train in 1928. Anti-Semitism was, at that time, rife in much

of Europe, especially in Poland. In TRAIN TO ZAKOPANE: A true story of hate and love, a successful Russian businessman meets a captivating young nurse in the Polish army on a train-trip to Warsaw, and he is faced with a life-changing dilemma when he discovers that the nurse he is drawn to – and who is enchanted by him — is fiercely anti-Semitic. Will he move toward love, or will he move toward revenge? The actual train-ride across Poland – and the weekend stop-over in the resort town of Zakopane that followed – haunted Henry Jaglom’s father for a lifetime. It is a compelling love story that lays bare how compassion and intolerance can, even in the most unusual of circumstances, be one. Tanna Frederick stars as the nurse and her co-star as the Russian businessman is Mike Falkow. The supporting cast features Jeff Elam, Cathy Arden, Stephen Howard and Kelly DeSarla, all have of whom have performed at The Edgemar before. Frederick most recently had a highly acclaimed one-year run at The Edgemar starring in the hit production of The Rainmaker. Prior to that she also was praised for starring in very long runs of Sylvia (as the title dog in A.R. Guerney’s classic play) and in Mr Jaglom’s Just 45 Minutes From Broadway, among others. TRAIN TO ZAKOPANE: A true story of hate and love is produced by Alexandra Guarnieri and directed by Gary Imhoff, who previously directed Mr. Jaglom’s Always But Not Forever, Just 45 Minutes From Broadway, and A.R. Gurney’s Sylvia at the Edgemar Center for the Arts. Tickets cost $34.99 for general admission. TRAIN TO ZAKOPANE: A true story of hate and love will run Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 5:00 pm.

A Note To Our Dear Patrons:
Unfortunately, the unique set construction required for the extraordinary production of
Henry Jaglom's brilliant new play, “TRAIN TO ZAKOPANÉ,” (starring Tanna Frederick and Mike Falkow and featuring Stephen Howard, Cathy Arden, Jeff Elam & Kelly DeSarla and directed by Gary ImHoff & Produced by Alexandra Guarnieri) has been much more technically complicated than had originally been anticipated and has required more time to achieve the brilliant sets we want to provide you for this truly astonishing play. As a result we have postponed " “ZAKOPANÉ'S” opening nights to Friday, November 21st and Saturday, November 22nd and we will be running the play all the way to March 29th (with a brief hiatus from December 21st until January 8, when the Edgemar will be closed)
Please note that we will also be dark the one night of March 8th, 2015.
