On the Starz show ‘Gaslit’ which takes place in the 1970s, we did a lot of phone call scenes.

Normally this type of scene would be considered simple with an off camera second team person reading the other side of the call.

Production of this show started scheduling the actors to be available to perform their side of the phone call from home. My concern as I noticed these scenes included a lot of scripted overlaps with continuous laughing included; was getting these performances clear of any on-set speakerphone contamination.

The solution we came up with was enlisting a JK Audio Daptor 3, Invisity earwigs and some digital routing courtesy of Aaton. What on its surface should be a simple two-way routing scheme, really warped my brain initially and to keep it all strait for when the heat of the set-up occurs; I armed myself with the following diagram. Posting in-case this happens to be useful to anyone here. Plus, I wanted to be a graphic designer as a kid before discovering sound. Enjoy!
