"Wunderkammer" at the Inglewood Senior Center in Los Angeles, CA, takes its inspiration from the Wunderkammers or Cabinets of Wonder of the 17th century. As one enters the lobby, the focal point is the two-story backlit metal screen that spans the first and second floors. The metal screen displays curated objects, pictures, and text donated by the Inglewood community. Internally, lit glass boxes hold personal treasures, while a historical narrative of the Inglewood neighborhood is etched onto the metal screen. "Wunderkammer" employs personal accounts to construct a vibrant community narrative. These things of wonder and memory weave a poetic history of this community. art
