💘This one means a lot to me. Hi, I'm Nicole Blaine, the founder and artistic director of The Crow.

As a comic myself, I survived a rough childhood by joking about it. Laughing was a lot easier than crying. And talking to my parents about the hard stuff was easier when we could all tell funny stories about what we were going through. Creating The Crow, a comedy club that helps kids and families talk about things that are hard to say and find the humor in the human experience, has been a dream come true. I've had the honor of sharing this stage with so many kids who have joked about their parents' divorce, their super strict moms, or their homophobic grandparents.

Nothing compares to watching a kid stand on stage and hold the audience in the palm of their hand. When else do they get that much authority and power? Creating a space where children not only find their voice but use it through joke telling has brought me to tears on a regular basis. They have so much to say! And we have so much to learn when we really listen to them.

🙏 I can't thank our teachers and camp counselors here at The Crow enough. They know how to inspire, lead, and make kids feel like they belong, not just on our stage, but in this world.

🙏 Thank you, Ada Tseng and the Los Angeles Times, for taking the time to write this article and show how much comedy helps kids turn the dark into light. 🙏

🤡 We hope to see you at our summer Kids Comedy Camp, our Tween and Teen classes, and of course our family-friendly comedy shows.

💸 And for those of you who can sponsor a scholarship for a child, we will be forever grateful for your tax-deductible donation. It keeps us going!

Let's talk about SiriusXM Channel 99.

In April, SiriusXM swapped out its Raw Comedy channel ("Raw Dog") for Sebastian Maniscalco's Comedy Radio. Raw Dog was one of the few places a working comic could get national airplay. And get paid for it.

Here's what changed:

- 812 comics were in rotation in April. By September it was 275. That's about two out of three comics gone. (Data: Stand Up for Standup)
- The top 50 comics now get about 75% of all airplay.
- The total airtime didn't shrink. The plays just moved to big names and legends like Joan Rivers, Johnny Carson, Bob Hope and Norm Macdonald.
- Each spin pays a comic roughly $15. For a lot of touring comics, those checks quietly covered gas, rent and the next road gig.

This isn't about one comic. Most of us see Sebastian as the face of a decision SiriusXM made. But the result is the same. Hundreds of working comedians lost exposure and income overnight.

Superstars have Netflix. Legends have their legacy. The middle class of comedy had Raw Dog.

SiriusXM, please bring the working comics back into rotation!

And Sebastian , you came up through the clubs, I remember getting bumped at a show at The Comedy Store and watching you crush -- and I loved it!! You know what one spin can mean for a comic grinding it out on the road. Your name is on this channel, and your voice carries more weight than anyone's. Please help us bring them back!

If a comic you love got you through a long drive, go follow them, buy a ticket and tell them. And come see the next generation live at The Crow! Basically follow and support comics!

And comics, keep making and creating. Produce shows, make sure clubs pay you, and film your own s**t. Get yourself out there, and if they're going to take something away from us, let's continue to create opportunities for each other.

Lover of Comedy and Artists,

Nicole Blaine
