Samohi Orchestras

The first orchestra at Samohi was founded in 1913. Over a century later, the program has expanded to 7 orchestras, offering opportunities to all students.

Here at Samohi, we are fortunate to have a community supportive of the arts, dedicated parents, a fine arts coordinator, enthusiastic administrative support, motivated students, and of course our two wonderful directors, Joni Swenson and Jason Aiello. Our current range of orchestras include Beginning/String Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Sinfonia Orchestra, Intermezzo Orchestra, Philharmonic Orches

tra, Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. Our orchestras perform several concerts a year in Samohi's very own Barnum Hall, and Chamber Orchestra regularly performs at both public and private events.
