Some exciting news! The author,Janeen Jackson (), of “Hello, Sweet Baby!” will be promoting our book today at the Santa Monica 2023 Arts & Literacy Festival from 10 AM to 2 PM.

She will be giving away 50 early access copies of the book. If you can’t make it, you can pre-order the book online for the August drop!

恭喜發財 ✨ Happy Lunar New Year 🐇🧧

For Lunar New Year, we have several greetings that we welcome friends and family to wish them good fortune for the new year, one of the being 年年有餘 (nián nián you yú). It translates to “may you have an abundance year after year”. I always thought the 餘 (yú) in the idiom was 魚 (yu), which means “fish” instead of “abundance” and that everyone was wishing that I had fish in the year to come. When I was reading the article and researching, I thought there couldn't be a reason why people would love mosquitoes. But, they're a super important part of the food chain, esp. for insectivores like bats and birds. I guess I wouldn't mind them if they didn't inject me with itch juice all the time. ⁠⠀
