I wanted to share SERIES 8 #3, "PASSAGE TO NOWHERE". A broad scarlet field meets two deep blue volumes that angle inward, and a narrow vertical stripe of yellow links a maroon-and-white wedge above to a pointed white triangle below. The colors do most of the work here: scarlet pushes forward, blue recedes, and the small flashes of yellow and white act like punctuation. The near-symmetry and offset angles keep the eye moving along the vertical axis. Clean shapes sit on a clear blue ground: a low pink slab anchors the bottom, a tilted cobalt panel rises beside it, and a segmented yellow-and-white column adds a leaning, architectural note. I kept the forms simple and the colors deliberate so negative space becomes part of the composition and a quiet diagonal rhythm takes over. Small details—a white triangle edged in yellow and a bright lemon wedge in the corner—shift the balance and keep it playful. I wanted to point out the rust-brown vertical plane rising from the base, its top sliced at an angle and met by a sharp yellow triangle that tilts forward. Broad bands of turquoise form a loose diamond while cream and lime marks scatter across the field, giving the piece a lively sense of motion. A thin diagonal yellow bar echoes the triangle and helps balance the color conversation; the mix of citrus yellow, deep umber, teal and chartreuse reads warm and electric without overwhelming the eye. Rendered in latex on canvas with a protective matte clear coat. I'm sharing SERIES 8 # 8, "PASSAGE TO SANTA FE", created in 2025. Flat planes and clean geometry set up a calm, deliberate rhythm: a deep teal above a broad maroon, a narrow yellow line suggesting a horizon, and a bold red field balanced by a cool blue wedge that points upward. The color relationships create a quiet tension that keeps the eye moving and gives the composition a sense of direction. It won Viral Visual's Best in Show from CEV Art Gallery and Juror's Choice in the SQUARE online group exhibition.
