this is rarity, photo of the two of us! i couldn’t do any of this without this guy (ry) standing next to me, so grateful for him! and thank you to everyone that stopped by last night ~ it was lovely meeting you in person, i wish i had more time to spend chatting with you all individually. ry & i have a tendency to get deeply absorbed in conversations so it left little time to get to know everyone that stopped by. the few hours were gone before we knew it! and last but not least, thank you most of all to meredith & daniel for your generous hospitality & sharing your gorgeous space with us, we love that you are here in santa barbara!
if you’d like to continue our conversation or would like to start a new one & view my work (and ry’s!) please come visit us ~ you can make an appointment at link in profile or sign up for our newsletter for latest happenings.

hello! this here is the slo curio creative duo, g + ry, partners in love & art. if we haven’t met, g .g.roslie is a contemporary textile artist utilizing all natural hand dyed linens to create brightly colored wall hangings inspired by poetry, themes of deep contemplation & exploration of belonging in the natural world.
ry creates biomorphic hanging sculptures, both decorative & functional, utilizing all natural materials. they are something special to look up to… we just opened our studio/gallery space in Santa Barbara in December & inspired to build a beautiful little community here surrounded by a common thread: love of creating art & craft. if you’re curious, please stop by & talk story with us!

we are open today if you’d like to stop by otherwise we are happy for you to visit by appointment which you can schedule online (link on bio) or dm us here & we will pencil you in!

hope to see you soon!

I read a Buddhist story that speaks of Tibetan monks that sit downwind of flowers when they need a boost to their immune system. such a beautiful thought, letting the wind carry the goodness & living essence of flowers to heal what’s ailing.
we wish everyone an abundance of such benevolent experiences as we close out the year & welcome a new one with fresh eyes, heart & mind.

we will be open by appointment only for the remainder of the year & will resume regular hours starting in January.

may the season fill you with joy & gratitude & sweet sights looking up…

vs.
🧐

while I love black & white & neutral tones, color gives so much more life to a space, yes? nature’s perfect colors in the purest form saturate .g.roslie ‘s textile art & there is a certain ‘aliveness’ that comes through with textiles dyed with natural plant & earth pigments. the subtle variations in color & texture can not only be seen but felt in person & the feeling is all good!
if you’re the curious type looking for a warm, unique, colorful, eco-friendly experience please come visit!
we are open by appt thurs, fri & sun & walk in on sat 11-5.
