Every detail in Private Lives—the tilt of a branded object, the glow of a screen—carries structural weight. These compositions don't simply depict contemporary life; they diagram it.⁠

Hill stages ordinary people within frameworks borrowed from centuries of image-making, then watches where the present warps the template. Social codes. Consumer habits. Constant connectivity. All measured against the discipline of historical portraiture.⁠
