Some highlights of this years swaia. Went crazy buying Adrian Standing Elk Pinnecoose 💖 it started with the biggest and now here we are. Lolz. Tried to record some because I knew I would forget everything. The pictures I do have were in the moment and me remembering my phone is a camera. Thankful and blessed to be on this journey.

This year at SWAIA 2026 I am feeling beyond blessed to not only be accepted into SWAIA for not only my beadwork but in 2-D for my watercolor paintings and ledger watercolor paintings. And to add to this amazing journey, for the first time in 3 years of being at SWAIA I have SOLD EVERYTHING!!! 😭 😱 💖

The work never stops. Going to be creating more for my collectors, my community, my friends, and anyone who wants to own something beautiful, unique and made by indigenous hands.

I look forward to seeing out the rest of the weekend with friends and new family. 💖

My entry piece for swaia 2026

Musutkwi-vi nuka (Medicine)

Making this design is about the culture around Ute Belt bags and the Medicine within us all. Through ceremony and sweat we are often in darkness. There is water by the door. Steak from the rocks. Often, if not always, with spirit by us; with us. 4 directions with ties in between each direction which allows us to be able to move anywhere freely.

I will continue creating and holding true to my another Ute Heritage. While honoring the intricacies and discipline of creating beadwork from my Shoshone side. The dragonfly represents my Apache side in that various belt bags from Apache tribes held significance in dragonflies.

Measures 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. 13/00 cut charlotte beads, 18kt gold beads, smoked and brain tanned yearling buck, flat two needle stitch, wrap edge stitch, picot beading.
