“Redacted” turns artwork into evidence.
In Karrie Hovey’s exhibition, the original artwork is interrupted and replaced by the real Epstein-file letters, so the message can’t be softened or abstracted—it’s the document, placed in plain view.

The third image shown is from the series “What Happened”—constructed from chunks of redacted text pulled directly from the letters, assembled into an incomplete, cracked facade: gilded above, gaps below.

There are 192 works in total, created to raise funds for Democratic women candidates in the 2026 midterm elections. Each 8.5 x 11 x 1/8” basswood panel (with plaster/pearlescent/metallic finishes) comes from the released and redacted files, and the full wall will be literally papered with these pages—making what’s being hidden impossible to ignore.

In The Vortex Remembers Everything: A Utopian Version of Earth, Galindo extends this practice into the realm of speculative transformation, where borders of all kinds—geographic, corporeal, temporal—dissolve like salt in warm water. In the spiral time of the vortex, what was solid becomes permeable. What was singular becomes multiple. The beings that emerge here are not mutations but revelations—ancient forms remembering themselves into futures where the very concept of crossing over loses meaning.

Through double-exposure images, Galindo conjures creatures who carry their ancestry in layered transparencies, bodies as palimpsests where each story remains visible, none erased.

Brooks Williams’ photography is informed by his 30-year electronic music background. He uses the computer much as an audio synthesizer, that is, to process visual samples that he has collected through the
lens of his camera.

For more than 30 years Williams has worked in his New York studio, Harmonic Ranch, where he creates, edits, mixes, and designs music and audio for film, dance, television, art projects, and performances.

Brooks has worked with a diverse group of artists and organizations such as Pauline Oliveros, John Cage, Christian Marclay, LaMonte Young, Wooster Group, Dia Foundation, MOMA, New Museum, and many others.

Artist Statement:
I was born in Romania and came to the United States at age 18 to study at Harvard University and subsequently the Yale School of Art. My photography reflects an allegiance to my classical training, my fondness for old world Eastern European aesthetics, and my life experience as an immigrant. In particular, I have a persistent curiosity for absorbing and documenting cultural norms, taboos and nuances of American society. I work primarily in black and white and I am especially drawn to the timeless elegance of silver gelatin prints. Through my photographs, I seek to catapult the viewer on a journey into worlds barricaded by closed door. Whether it is an operating room, a fetishist’s lair or a gubernatorial candidate’s back office, I try to capture sharp, witty and intelligent viewpoints. My work does not cater to the censorship of power; rather it exposes imperfections, illuminates un-manicured expressions and glimpses the sincerity of moments unfolding.
