KENNETH SUSYNSKI
ADORATION OF THE SHEPARDS, 2025
Oil on canvas
54” x 60”

Part of Kenneth Susynski’s exhibition “Skies Like Satin, Earth Like Silk.”

Artist Biography
Kenneth Susynski presents a unique, hybrid style of figurative expressionism blended with the abstract in narrative compositions that stress an interpretation of beauty with a hint of wit, exploring combinations of historical and contemporary cultural themes.

Having been raised primarily in Germany, yet also in Turkey and Korea, the influence of culture and custom combined with countless visits to some of the world’s greatest museums as a child formed his appreciation of art and, specifically, the figure. A lifelong interest in historical and contemporary black-and-white photography shapes his rendering of the human form. Working in oils, his goal is to create layered, vibrant works that are lastingly meaningful, timely and timeless, and evoke his spirit.

CRISTIAN IANCULESCU
BACKSLIDE, 2024
Tennessee pink marble
17” x 15” x 6”

Artist Statement:
Most of my sculptures are intimate in scale, designed to become part of the human fabric of daily living. I am drawn to forms that invite interaction—objects that fit naturally within domestic spaces, that can be touched, held, and contemplated over time. In a world of constant motion, I seek to create pieces that offer stillness—works that integrate into the rhythm of life, offering moments of quiet resonance, grounding, and connection.

Mixed Media
27.6” x 19.7”
70cm x 50cm

Part of Ammar’s current exhibition “From Other Worlds” on display thru May 10th.

With a background in sculpture from the University of Damascus (1997–2001), Ammar approaches painting through the lens of a sculptor. His figures and forms carry a tactile, almost chiseled quality, echoing the discipline of his foundational training. “I always paint as a sculptor, not as a painter,” he explains. “My paintings and I speak to each other—I never consider a work finished until we’ve had that dialogue.”

ALL ROADS LEAD HERE, 2024
Reclaimed terra cotta, Venetian and Mexican smalti, 24kt gold leaf tile
18” x 14” x 1”

Part of Kristin Javier’s exhibition “Mosaics: Into the Light” on display thru May 10th.

Artist Statement:
I speak in dialects of brokenness and light. Mosaic becomes a metaphor for restoration.
My practice is a dialogue between the visions in my mind, the hammer, and the stone.
My process is deeply rooted in ancient methods.
I ask each tessera to break using only hand tools, cutting each piece with a carbide tipped hammer and a pitched anvil called a hardie.
I place each fragment directly into thinset tinted with earth oxides. I allow each shard to stand as its own sculpture, possessing the power to reflect, refract, or absorb light.
Initially self-taught using broken ceramic shards, I eventually sought the rigor of Classical training at Studio Arte del Mosaico in Ravenna Italy and The Chicago Mosaic School.
My work is an exploration of the mystical, and a manifestation of the resilience of the human spirit.
Every Mosaic created over the past six years represents a step in my healing journey toward the light.
