Before you say, "I have zero experience..." Read this ⬇️⬇️

I've been teaching absolute beginners for more than 20 years, and honestly, beginners are some of my favorite students. I love watching someone who thinks they can't paint become completely mesmerized by the process. No art background required 😎

In my 2-Hour Santa Fe Painting Classes, I follow an "I do, you do" approach, breaking each lesson into clear, manageable steps so you're never left staring at a blank canvas wondering what comes next. Along the way, I share some of my favorite signature techniques, practical shortcuts, and plenty of knowledge gems about color theory, composition, and design principles.

In other words, I'm not going to leave you out there flailing your arms in unknown art land.

Here's what I offer:

🎨 2-Hour Acrylic Painting Classes
Learn color mixing, composition, brushwork, and acrylic techniques while creating your own finished painting.

💧 2-Hour Watercolor Classes
Explore vibrant landscapes and natural forms through an approachable, step-by-step process that builds confidence and creativity.

And the best part? You don't need to show up carrying an art store on your back.

I provide:
• Canvas or watercolor paper
• Brushes and palette knives
• Aprons and neoprene gloves
• A 16" x 20" canvas for acrylic classes

You bring yourself. I'll take care of the rest 🫡

😎 A travel influencer would probably tell you to visit Santa Fe for the adobe architecture, mountain views, galleries, food, and magical sunsets.

They're not wrong.

But I think the best reason to come is what happens when you give yourself permission to disappear into 🎨 creativity for a few days.

No errands.
No laundry.
No endless to-do list.

Just shared meals with fellow artists, leisurely curated strolls through renowned galleries, a studio filled with natural light, paint-covered aprons, creative breakthroughs, and conversations that somehow turn strangers into friends.

💖 That's the heart of Painting Beyond Boundaries.

You'll learn abstract painting techniques, explore color theory, create dynamic surfaces, work with collage and texture, and receive personalized coaching every step of the way.

But what people remember most isn't the technique.

It's how they felt ⬇️⬇️

Inspired.
Refreshed.
Creative again.

📆July 26-29, 2026 has 4 spots left.
📆October 19-22, 2026 has 2.

The rest have sold out.

Raise your hand if you've ever bought another tube of paint hoping it would solve all your problems 🙋🏼‍♀️

This mini course is cheaper than a paint-shopping addiction ⬇️⬇️

After years of teaching abstract painting, I've noticed something that comes up again and again.

Artists start gaining confidence with composition. Their mark-making gets stronger. Their paintings begin to feel more intentional.

But color?

That's often where the wheels get a little wobbly.

I hear things like:

💬 "I know something feels off, but I can't figure out what."

💬 "My colors keep turning muddy."

💬 "I spend more time second-guessing my palette than actually painting."

The truth is, many self-taught artists were never given a clear roadmap for understanding color. We're expected to somehow "feel" our way through it and hope for the best.

👉🏼 That's exactly why I created 🎨 my best-selling ONLINE CLASS "Color Theory Essentials."

This focused course is designed to help you finally understand how color actually works, without feeling like you need a PhD in paint mixing.

Inside, you'll learn:

✨ How to mix colors with more confidence
✨ How to create harmonious color schemes
✨ How values influence every color decision you make
✨ How to avoid muddy, disconnected paintings
✨ How to make intentional color choices that support your vision

This course is perfect if you're looking for focused help with color, want a stronger foundation before diving deeper into abstraction, or simply want your paintings to feel more cohesive and confident.

Because when you understand the "why" behind color, painting becomes a whole lot less frustrating and a whole lot more fun.

🇪🇸 Right now I’m in Spain, working out of a small travel setup with gouache and watercolor.

It's pretty simple...primaries, secondaries, and my favorite earth tones.

Here’s what I’m noticing in real time ⬇️⬇️

When you remove your usual tools, you don’t lose your voice.
You just meet it differently.

No overthinking. No over-layering. No “I’ll fix it later in oil paint.”

Just:
– faster decisions
– cleaner marks
– more risk
– more listening

So I’m adapting.
Simplifying.
Discovering what still holds up when everything familiar is taken away.

I get why people go to Aspen. It’s not just the mountains or the wildlife or the restaurants.

I was there at dawn. And I couldn't have predicted what happened next. The golds were soft but glowing, and the purples showed up in places I didn’t expect, like little surprises tucked into the landscape.

I remember thinking I want to paint this moment exactly as it feels right now.

That’s what this painting became for me.

A painting like this gives you that same feeling of being somewhere you actually want to stay a little longer 💫

A reminder of places that make you slow down and notice things again.

I've been fortunate to see Van Gogh's paintings in person multiple times, and each encounter deepens my appreciation.

Standing before his work, you can feel the power of those thick, energetic brushstrokes and his fearless use of color 🎨

As an Art History major, I spent considerable time studying Van Gogh's techniques.

👉🏼 In my just-released article, I explore how he used color to create MOOD in two of his most compelling paintings.

Whether you're an artist, art enthusiast, or collector, you'll find it fascinating to discover how color alone can communicate profound meaning and emotion.

🔴 "Distant Mesa" is rolling home to a very special collector!

Thank you for placing this New Mexico-inspired, tumbleweed-infused abstract painting.

These mesmerizing circular pieces are going quickly—head to my stories to see which are left at the gallery!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Thank you so much for the wonderful art retreat, Andrea.  It has made a HUGE DIFFERENCE in my painting. You helped me find a fearlessness that I did not know that I had in me. When I started painting at Ghost Ranch after the retreat, I could see a big difference in how I'm applying the paint. Before the retreat I was dabbing paint and smoothing it out. After the retreat I'm putting down thicker paint with more dynamic brush strokes and leaving them alone. The result is that my paintings look bolder and fresher..."

Did you think that was the end?

It keeps going ⬇️⬇️

"I appreciate how you took care of all of us and helped us feel so welcome, too. Your retreats are a safe space to learn and explore ways to express yourself on canvas."
-Cindy L.

In just a few hours, my family and I leave for Spain for a month — a few days in Barcelona, then on to the Costa Brava for the rest of the trip. I cannot wait.

I’m forcing myself to travel light this time — no raw canvas rolls and tubes of acrylic stuffed into suitcases. I’m bringing watercolors and gouache instead.

Honestly, I’m excited about the limitation.

Watercolor has been pulling me in lately, and I’ve barely scratched the surface with gouache. This feels like the perfect excuse to deepen both. I’m packing a 20-pack of 16x20 Arches paper and a small travel palette loaded with essentials: primaries, secondaries, black, white, and a few favorite earth tones.

(And if I absolutely need canvas, Barcelona has art stores. I’ll survive. 🤣)

Here’s something that genuinely delighted me when I found out: my favorite brushes — — are made just outside Barcelona.

I still can’t figure out if factory visits are possible, but I will be visiting every art supply store I can find and coming home with brushes. This is non-negotiable.

My plan is to film a few YouTube lives while painting on the beach.
